Animals & Friends
Animals and Friends is a modern incarnation of the legendary British rock band The Animals, originally formed in Newcastle upon Tyne, England in the early 1960s. Known for their gritty, blues-infused sound and powerful vocals, The Animals were a key part of the British Invasion of the U.S. music scene, alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Their breakout hit, “The House of the Rising Sun”, became a global anthem and topped charts worldwide.
Their music has influenced generations of artists. Bruce Springsteen once said The Animals were his favorite British Invasion band, citing their class-conscious lyrics as a major inspiration for his own songwriting. The band’s debut album was recognized by Classic Rock magazine as one of the “50 Albums That Built Blues Rock”.
Animals & Friends is a continuation of The Animals’ legacy, featuring original drummer John Steel and other seasoned musicians like: Norman Helm, Danny Handley, Barney Williams.
